Yes, we’re tapping the online communities to ask for help in our mission to reach out to our Agta and Dumagat people in General Nakar.
After sitting with the idea for weeks, we finally decided to bring our fund raising initiatives online. The global community in social networking sites proved to help a lot of non-profit missions because we know that people still care. Just the same way we care about the Agta and Dumagat people.
Can you imagine in our time, in such a country wherein people are not very far behind from the evolving technology and fast paced life, there are still communities and groups of people living with only the basics?
Most of the Mission Members are proud that we have indigenous people still living as a community, especially the Agta who are inhabiting the vast forests in Sierra Madre mountain range. However, due to some forces pushing most tribe members to explore the lowlands, the forests of Sierra Madre are facing extinction as well. The presence of our mountain people in those areas keep away the destructive effects brought upon by illegal logging and mining.
By preserving the indigenous people such as the Agta and Dumagat, we are preserving the guardians of our mountains.
